The 2014 Australian Hair Fashion Awards
In December 2012, I joined the team at M Division as the Editor of The Journal Magazine. Since then, I have had the honour and privilege to play a part in planning some pretty incredible events. On Monday night, I attended the 2014 Australian Hair Fashion Awards with the M Division team along with 400 of the most celebrated talent in this country. The AHFAs are Australia’s largest and most successful independent hair fashion awards program, and Monday night saw the 22nd gala ceremony held in Sydney at the Ivy Ballroom. These awards are known as the ultimate celebration of the synergy between hair and fashion culture. This year’s winner list features a roll call of the who’s who of the hair, beauty and fashion industry in Australia.
I was honoured to be dressed in red by an amazing Sydney based couturist, Laila Nakhoul. My hair was styled by the inimitable Natalie Anne Ayoub - queen of all things pony tail. Melissa Sassine worked her magic with my makeup and by 5:00pm, I was red carpet ready. After a year of planning, I can honestly say that I'm so thrilled to have worked on bringing this event to life. The anthem of the night? 'Alive' - performed live on stage by Dami Im, the current reigning X Factor Australia winner.
Just like last year, it came and went so quickly! Congratulations to all the winners and finalists. What a privilege it is to play a small part in one of the biggest moments in someone's life!
