Rainforest Horse Riding in Vanuatu

When Kevin and I jumped aboard Rhapsody of the Seas, we were so caught up in the prospect of relaxing, adventure and fitness, that we forgot about one really simple reality; that we weren’t the only people about to embark on this amazing journey. A welcome surprise to our 15-night escape was that we met likeminded travellers that shared our excitement and enthusiasm for the cruise life.

Over many incredible dinners and toasted drinks, we befriended our fellow diners and basically spent every waking minute with them. From dining room breakfasts, to poolside sun sessions, formal dinners, to late nights at the club, Kevin and I enjoyed the company of our new friends both on and off the boat.

One of the many shared experiences includes a stunning day ashore in Port Vila, Vanuatu. Six of us booked a shore excursion through guest services on board Rhapsody and spent a morning horse riding though a magnificent rainforest. After an hour riding through the tropical plantation, we wrapped things up with a liberating bare backed ride through a gorgeous lagoon. My horses name was Delta, and she was pretty adventurous… she insisted on taking me as deep as she could stand. And I didn’t mind. Not one bit.
